Lucas de Lima (they/he) is a Brazilian-born poet, performer, scholar, translator, and educator. Their work integrates lyric desire and ritual performance as a way of locating the body spiritually and ecologically. They are the author of Wet Land (Action Books) and Tropical Sacrifice (Birds LLC). de Lima holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and is the recipient of grants, fellowships, and residencies from the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation, Canada Council for the Arts, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Shandaken Storm King, and Fire Island Artist Residency. Their performances have taken place at Immigrant Artist Biennial, Untitled Art Fair, Artists Alliance Inc, Recess Art, Mount Holyoke College Art Museum, Center for Performance Research, and the University of Chicago. de Lima lives in Lenapehoking (New York) and teaches at Mount Holyoke College.
